Shopping Around Dale Hollow Lake
Shopping around Dale Hollow Lake is a wonderful adventure and I (Annie) will highlight some of my favorites. Lisa Richter of Yellow Ribbon Trading Post is a delightful lady with a vibrant personality whose store is a cornucopia of locally handcrafted items and artwork, walking sticks, collectibles, antiques, candles, floral arrangements, all natural and organic products, and so much more. Lisa cheerily greets her guests as they arrive at her store and enjoys showing them around and helping them find that special gift or treasure. Lisa and her husband, Scott, moved to the Marrowbone community a few years ago from the city to fulfill a dream of owning a store and living a simpler lifestyle. Amazingly, they discovered the opportunity to achieve their dream through an internet search. I love visiting Yellow Ribbon Trading Post because of Lisa’s welcoming smile and the great array of gifts, treasures, and more to be found in her store.

Another one of my favorites is Livingston’s downtown square. This charming square has a delightful air all year long and is extra special during the Christmas season when the lampposts are draped with garland, lights are strung throughout the town square and the courthouse lawn is adorned with a huge live Christmas tree decorated for the season. There are many antique stores full of antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing and accessories, furniture, and lots of home decorating items. There is a furniture store, jewelry at EB Gray Jewelers and Crickets - one of the newest stores which has a wide collection of Vera Bradley bags, table coverings, and so much more. In Byrdstown, Legends continues to be a great place to shop. Many loyal customers gather to buy their special birthday and holiday gifts there each year. Ain’t that Nice is the newest high end antique store in the Celina square. This store is full of amazing furniture, home furnishings, collectibles, glassware, and more. After you get off the lake or on a rainy day, go exploring the towns around the lake and enjoy the small town atmosphere. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat along the way and remember to tell everyone that “Annie” sent you. Happy Trails!
